In support of our rural communities, T.I.P. Rural Electric Cooperative promotes economic development through its Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Program to improve the quality of life in rural central Iowa by contributing to long-term improvements in the local economy.
USDA RURAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT LOAN PROGRAM (RLF)
The RLF is a local funding source with a goal of providing low interest loans to assist with local economic and community development projects. The RLF Program provides funding to rural projects through local utility organizations like T.I.P. REC. The USDA provides loans to local utilities which they, in turn, pass through to local businesses for projects that will create and retain employment in rural areas. The ultimate recipients repay the cooperative directly, then T.I.P. REC is responsible for repayment to the Agency.
